Sarah and Dan poured personality into their gorgeous Maine summer wedding. They are full of DIY spirit and created loads of fun, personal touches: Awesome lawn games (gotta love ginormous Jenga!) and a lobster boat puzzle guestbook, the most lovely hand-lettered seating plan on salvaged windows, centerpieces that nodded to a familial love of scuba diving….oh, and did we mention their transportation?
Sarah and Dan win the prize for the most unique wheels we’ve seen at a wedding! Sarah rode to the ceremony with her dad in a Studabaker Avanti while Dan cruised in a ’69 International Scout (which he refurbished himself and drove up all the way from Virginia, no less!)
They were the first couple to ever have a wedding ceremony at Mitchell Field in Harpswell (chosen because it was a symbolic landmark that reminded Sarah of feeling safe and being close to home on childhood sailing trips ❤ ) In fact, Dan and the fellows donned ties featuring nautical charts of the location, created by Coastline by Anne Zimmerman. And one more new one for us: a unity pipe fitting, a nod to Dan’s engineering profession, was incorporated in the ceremony. As you can see, Sarah and Dan are full of talent and love!
Here’s a glimpse at their day!
