Southern Maine Summer Wedding • Lisa + Michael • Scarborough, Maine Wedding Photography

After a frigid Maine winter, we are pretty darn thrilled that it is finally the start of spring! We’ve been dreaming of daffodils for days now, and it only seems appropriate to blog about a wedding full of smiling people and gorgeous blooms in celebration of the warming days!  Lisa and Michael met through a mutual friend and after their very first blind date, the rest was history!

Lisa and Michael’s day was all about love (obviously!) and uniting family. The couple chose to have the five children they share between them as their wedding party ❤

August served up the perfect weather for their quaint backyard wedding at a friend’s property in Scarborough. That very same weather also provided perfect conditions for Michael to ride his motorcycle to the ceremony!

After a heartfelt ceremony under a grape arbor, guests moved into the funky, rustic barn and surrounding garden for cocktail hour, complete with lawn games, a photo booth and a few curious onlookers.

The hay bales, which had been artfully draped with a blush fabric for creative outdoor ceremony seating, served another purpose for the rest of the evening….

Brooke Biette of April Two Eighty styled the event, and made everything oh-so-sweet!maineweddingphotographer-62 maineweddingphotographer-63

I loved the bundled silverware, hand tied with a sprig of rosemary, which symbolizes love and loyalty.

Lisa’s bouquet of roses, hydrangeas and dahlias was designed by Fleur de Lis.

Pizza By Fire catered the reception – AMAZING wood fired pizza, cooked onsite in a mobile brick oven!
